Abstract
WiMAX technology is one of the wireless broadband connection technology which is currently a lot of operators in Indonesia began wanting to implement. WiMAX is based on 802.16 standards developed by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), called WirelessMANTM, provide new perspectives in high-speed Internet access without relying on a wired network. IEEE 802.16 standard provides an easy Internet access to metropolitan areas with only establish several base stations (BS) that can cover a lot of subscriber station (SS). WiMAX technology is a solution for urban or rural areas that have not been developed in the provision of internet access. Broadband Wireless Access (BWA), which is intended to provide wireless data connections that carry long-range improvement over standard WiFi limitations by providing greater bandwidth and better encryption. It also refers to the Depkominfo who explained that, 3.3 GHz frequency band for BWA services is the frequency band 3300-3324 MHz paired with 3376-3400 MHz. In this paper, performance quality analysis of the BTS Point to Multi Point at abase stations site on a one network sector antenna, that includes RSSI, bandwidth, and packet loss. Based on the measurements made, the result that the BWA radio capable of passing the data according to the bandwidth needed by the customer, starting from 128 Kbps to 512 Kbps, with the highest modulation 16QAM3 / 4 and the lowest QPSK3 / 4 (strongly influenced by distance and propagation of the customer to the BTS). When performed ping tests from MPLS IM2 to each customer with a repetition of 1000 times, no packet loss, so it is worth to pass data.
