Abstract

MUHAMAD KOMARUDIN. Analysis pollution load capacity using numeric and spasial model – Case Study of Pesanggrahan River in Segmen Depok City West Of Java. Supervised by SIGID HARIYADI and BUDI KURNIAWAN. The increase of population number followed by the rise of wide rage activities has boosted generated waste that is discharged into river. It in turn results in worsening water quality and pollution of river. An appropriate water pollution control shoud be initiated by the inventory and identification of pollutant sources to determine the type, location and amount of water pollutant sources. In addition, the calculation and analysis of pollution load capacity in accordace with its designeted use is needed for limiting the amount of pollution load that is allowed to be discharged into river. The purposes of the study are (1) To carry out the inventory and identification of pollutant sources that is discharged into the specified segment of Pasanggrahan River (2) To calculate and analyze the pollution load capacity of the specified segment of Pasanggrahan River. The methode used in the research is a combination of numerical model and spatial model. The calculating and analyzing river pollution load capacity were done applying the numerical water quality model of “QUAL2Kw” Meanwhile, the spatial approach using Geographic Information System (GIS) was conducted for estimation potential load of pollutants discharged into the river including tracing the probabbly source of the pollution. Furthermore, this spatial approach is capable of connecting the result of river polution load capacity calcualtion with the resulf of identification potential pollution sources discharged into the river. The study was conducted in Pasanggrahan river that pass through two diffrenct provinces, Provinces of West Java and Jakarta, The Capital City. The study area is focused in Passangrahan river, segment of Depok City, West Java Province taking into account the hidrology and morfology condition. Potential pollutant load of each pollutant source was estimated indirectly using effluent or emission factor approach. Type of pollutant sources analyzed were wastewater generated from households, agriculture, livestock and garbage. Pollutant source data was colected from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in the Sub district level. The analysis technique applied is overlying the Administration Map with Drainage Area Maps to obtain the map of distribution of potential pollutant load in drainage area used as the analysis unit for which was then used as a key linked tool to reveal the contribution of pollution sources causing the pollution of river. Pollution load capacity of the river was calculated by applying water quality numerical models using the software of QUAL2Kw. The analysis unit used is segments of river. This study divides the Pesanggrahan river into five segments that receive the load of pollutants deriving from pollution sources location within the five defined different drainage area and the two upstream watershed. The five drainage area comprise of the Sub districts of Sawangan , Cinangka, Meruyung, Limo and Cinere which are the parth of Depok City, West Java province. Whereas are two upstream watershed discharging the pollution load into study area are Pesanggrahan Hulu dan Caringin watershed which is a tributarry of Pesanggrahan river.
