Abstract

An opportunity for LTE implementation in Indonesia arose when the government released a regulation of 2,3 GHz frequency allocation which is used for Fixed Broadband of Broadband Wireless Access (BWA). Operators were allowed to implement it by neutral technology, and LTE is one of the options. This paper provide planning model of broadband wireless access based on LTE in 2.3 GHz frequency. The model based on type of services and type of implemented area, aimed to calculate the capacity needed by customer, which will be projected to the cell capacity and coverage of LTE eNodeB as 3GPP2 standardization, using 5 MHz and 10 MHz band-with channel. Bandung had been choosing as an implementation case study for this planning model. The result of this planning model show that the number of LTE eNode B can cover all area of Bandung with all of potential market customer using various type of service, and the result of planning model show that it’s optimal for 5 years plan in term of utilization and LTE network capacity.
