Abstract
In this paper discusses about analysis of mac protect implementation to eliminate looping between Node and RNC in 3G network. Router is used as connection network betweek Node B and RNC using VPLS (Virtual Private LAN Service) service. Node B in 3G network has looping case because of double creation of VLAN, double creation of IP and physical looping. Looping influences network performance so it will be interrupted. The special implementation of that case is need to overcome it. This paper will explain the implementation of mac protect in VPLS service to eliminate looping between Node and RNC. It will implement in 8 scenarios. Each scenario will be tested and analyzed to obtain the most appropriate scenario in eliminating looping between Node B and RNC. Test of each scenario is expected to reduce the network traffic increase between Node B and RNC because of looping and to minimize the number of Node B dead because of mac protect implementation. The application of II-B scenario gives the most accurate results in eliminating looping between Node B and RNC.
